Volvo Jan-Oct truck deliveries up 2 pct yr-on-yr

AB Volvo said deliveries from its truck operations, which include Volvo Trucks, Nissan Diesel, Mack and Renault Trucks, rose 2 pct in January-October compared with the corresponding period last year, to 185,048 units.

Deliveries from Mack fell 51 pct, while deliveries from Renault Trucks were down 2 pct. Deliveries from Volvo Trucks fell 8 pct.

In Europe, deliveries rose 9 pct in the first 10 months of the year, while North America posted a 57 pct decrease compared with a year earlier.

South America rose 25 pct, while Asian deliveries rose 221 pct.

Deliveries from Nissan Diesel only include the April-Oct 2007 period since the company was consolidated as of April 1, 2007. Excluding Nissan Diesel, deliveries from all the truck operations amounted to 157,031 units, a decrease of 13 pct compared with the year-earlier period.
