First Volvo Truck to roll off Kaluga plant’s assembly line in Q1 2009

The first Volvo Truck will be assembled at the company’s plant in Kaluga in the first quarter of 2009, Lars Himmer, deputy general director of Volvo Vostok, said at an investment forum in Kaluga on Thursday.
“Less than three weeks ago, we made our choice for Kaluga, which appealed to us not just because of its convenient geographical location but because of the people. A unified team of managers led by the governor works here and resolves all problems,” he said.
Volvo’s plant in Kaluga will reach projected production capacity in two years, he said.
